| Virtual Drive Creator |
What is new: Converted full version to freeware |
Create virtual drives from long paths, it's easy! Type the full path or (even easier) browse to the path via the Drive and Folder Lists. Turn long paths into letters with Virtual Drive Creator. Select a drive letter from the Available Virtual Drive Letters list and click [Add Virtual Drive] to create the Virtual Drive, or Double Click the letter to create multiple Virtual Drive. An easy way to eliminate a virtual drive, double-click on the letter you want removed as a Virtual Drive or Click the letter and then Click [Remove unit] virtual. Make CD-ROMs obsolete: The material on the CD-ROM Copy to folder, not the root directory on the hard disk. Make that folder a Virtual Drive (see paragraph above), then install the Virtual CD from the Virtual Drive letter. Click Start, Run and type in the space L: setup or L: install (substitute your Virtual Drive letter L and see the documentation that accompanies the CD-ROM to the order of installation). Now every time you need to find the CD, you can use virtual CD on your hard disk. Make sure to make note of the Virtual Drive letter you used to create virtual CD when you restart the computer will re-create the Virtual Drive using the same letter. (The Pro version of Virtual Drive Creator you can make permanent virtual drives!) Virtual Drive Creator (VDC) satisfies STRING-DOS command in Windows. This allows you to use a drive letter to specify a full directory path (d: foldersub1sub2etc).
